Check-in time is 30 minutes before departure, using just your booking reference (and, of course, your passport!). If you're very early, you may be bumped forward to an earlier crossing. Exit checks mean that you will need to submit API (Advance Passenger Information) beforehand, but this is easy to do online or over the phone with Eurotunnel – look out for an email about this a couple of months before you depart.
There are a number of cafés and shops in both Eurotunnel terminals, plus free WiFi. The French terminal has a large duty-free shop, ideal for last minute purchases.
